“The Son of Man must suffer many things
and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes,
and be killed, and on the third day be raised.””
(Luke 9:22, ESV)
In this verse Jesus stated four things that summarized his mission on earth: he must suffer, he must be rejected, he must be killed, and he must be raised.
This is the gospel in condensed form, as Jesus’ suffering, rejection, and death at the hands of the Jewish religious leaders was necessary for the accomplishment of God’s plan of salvation
But that is not the end of the story! God reversed the destructive action of humanity by raising Jesus from the dead. Jesus died in your place – through accepting his work on your behalf you can experience peace with God. Will you accept his death and resurrection for yourself?
