In a lecture delivered by John D. Martin, he emphasized that the English word worship is an abridgement of the word worth-ship. To worship someone or something is to attribute worth to it. Because we worship our primary passion, we must evaluate who or what produces the most passion in our life. What is your passion button? What makes you the most excited? Is that person or thing truly worthy of your worship?
“If Socrates would enter the room we should rise and do him honor. But if Jesus Christ came into the room we should fall down on our knees and worship Him.”
